- Central Transport picks up a shipment and takes
it to the origin terminal
- Shipping and customs documents are scanned into
the document retrieval system.
- Central Transport’s customs processing center downloads the customs
documents and transmits the information to the customs broker designated
by the importer, Canada Customs or the importer
Step 2: When the Shipment Gets to the Border
- Canada Customs reviews each shipment’s
documents and immediately clears the shipment for delivery or it moves
in-bond from the border to an inland Customs warehouse for clearance.
- Upon arrival at the Customs Warehouse the
shipment is examined by Canada Customs and then released or rejected for
entry into Canada.
- Upon receiving a clearance from Canada Customs, Central Transport
makes the shipment available to the consignee.
B: Southbound Step 1: Pickup
- Central Transport picks up a shipment and takes
it to the origin terminal.
- Shipping and customs documents are scanned into
the document retrieval system and the customs documents are reviewed by
the origin terminal staff before being forwarded to the Customs Broker
identified on the bill of lading.
- The documentation and shipment information are presented at the
border for immediate entry and clearance into the United States or to
move in-bond to the final destination
Step 2: When the Shipment Gets to the Border
- The shipment arrives at the border and receives a clearance or moves
in-bond for clearance to destination terminal.
